Billa-2 goes to Hollywood

Yuvan Shankar Raja is leaving no stones unturned for his upcoming film Billa-2. Right from the time of ‘Dheena’, his combination with Thala Ajith Kumar has worked to the core of best. Now that their previous movie Mankatha has touched the peak of success, the music director is keen on getting the finest music.
Soon after finishing the premiere of Vettai, Yuvan Shankar Raja on the next day flew all way to Florida to meet Chakri. Over there, they will be sitting together for the jamming session of the title song. Earlier it was reported that world famous singer Pitbull will be roped in for crooning the song. But now it has been denied as baseless rumours.

Director Chakri Toleti awaiting his arrival has said that Yuvan is on his way. It’s going to be busy and fun filled weekend. Hollywood here we come.

Amala Paul Opposite Ajith?

K'town was a buzz with reports that Amala Paul will be sharing screen space with Thala Ajith in his upcoming flick with Vishnuvardhan.

While Ajith is in the wrapping up Billa 2, a prequel to Billa, and Vishnu is fine tuning the script, the movie produced by A.M. Ratnam is said to go on floors next month.

Though initially Anushka was touted to play the lead opposite Ajith, sources say that the dusky girl's dates were not available and hence the offer made to Amala.

When DC contacted Vishnu, the director who had just returned to the city from Hyderabad, said, "I can say that only Ajith has been signed as of now.

Talks are on with a few actresses on the production side. In a couple of weeks everything will be finalised".

Even as Ajith is gearing up to finish work on Billa 2, rumours regarding his leading lady for his next with Vishnuvardhan are cropping up. The buzz is Amala Paul is one of the frontrunners in the race.

A little birdie tells us that Ajith's film with Vishnu is likely to start rolling from March and the team is looking to finalize the cast as first priority. A source close to Ajith says, "Since work on Billa 2 is on in full swing, it will be a while before anything can be confirmed on Ajith's next film. Though, official announcements regarding the rest of the cast will be made soon."

When we asked Vishnuvardhan if he's looking to cast Amala Paul in the lead, he said, "Scripting work is on for the film and I'm yet to give a final shape to a few characters. It's a little early to comment on the cast now as I'm yet to initiate talks with the artists."

Interestingly, Anushka has been finalized as Ajith's pair in his film for late Nagi Reddy's production house, which will go on floors after he completes the film with Vishnu!

"Ajith & I Are Back" : Director Vishnuvardhan

Certain combinations like Gautam Menon-Haris Jeyaraj, Vishnuvardhan-Ajith and Selvaragavan-Yuvan Shankar Raja remain unbeatable.

The popular duos have produced some blockbuster hits in Tamil cinema.

After Billa, the Vishnuvardhan and Ajith combination is back on track to weave magic onscreen once again.

There are many rumours surrounding the Vishnuvardhan film. Some reports say that along with Ajith, Vishnu's brother Krishna is playing a vital role in the film.

Amala Paul, Anushka and Ileana were reportedly approached to play the lead role. Vishnuvardhan opens up on his film's status.

"I am undoubtedly directing Ajith's next flick," he says, adding, "Yes, we are back now. I am overwhelmed to work with Ajith again. I am currently working on the script.

After the action films we have done, Ajith and I have decided to work on an entertaining script rather than on any particular genre.

It is too early to talk about the star cast. Other than Ajith, nobody else has been confirmed yet." Vishnuvardhan was ready with a fresh script for Billa 2 but dropped the project later.

Was he going to be re-working the same script? "No, this is a different story. Talks were on for working with Ajith last year itself. I was just sorting out the exact script for Thala," he clarifies.

Have the issues regarding Billa 2 been sorted out? "There were no issues at all. I am glad to work with Ajith again." Asked when the film would start shooting, he says, "The shooting begins in March and I am looking forward to a great time with Ajith on the sets."

Here's a sneak peek into Billa 2, starring Ajith, and the latest buzz surrounding the film. According to an industry source, all that's left now for the filmmakers is the shooting of the title song. Explains the source, "Yuvan Shankar Raja has been busy with some projects and he is yet to record the title track. It's expected he will complete it shortly. Once he does, the song will be shot."

The buzz is that a Bollywood choreographer will be roped in for this title song with Ajith. Considering top choreographer Farah Khan is currently hot property in K-Town post her Ilaiyana song for Vijay's latest, she's said to be one of the frontrunners. Vaibhavi Merchant, Ganesh Hedge and Ganesh Acharya are also possibilities.

While the movie has been shot in Goa and Georgia, with the leading ladies Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdulla, the producers are said to be hunting for a good location to film the title song. Apparently, interior locales in India and abroad are being considered by them.

Meanwhile, we also hear that the overseas and satellite rights of this flick have been sold. And the source adds that it's the highestever pricing for an Ajith film. Apparently, it's about 30 per cent more than what Thala's 50th film, Mankatha, sold for.

This highly-anticipated flick, which is currently being edited, just has six more days of patchwork left according to the source. As of now, the film's tagline – Every man has a past. Every don, a history – has already got people's attention on social networking sites.
